150 of these engines were built at Swindon plus a further 50
at Armstrong Whitworth. Primarily used for coal traffic these
locos also appeared on local passenger trains. Designed by
C B Collett and introduced in 1924

The class was introduced by C B Collett over a period of
years from 1930. They were designed for mixed traffic work.

ments. Designed by J C Robinson for the Great Central Rail-
way and used on heavy coal trains, classed by the LNER as
LI they were re classified to L3 after the introduction of
Thompson's 2-6-4T class LI

Designed by E Thompson as part of his standardisation pro-
posals for the LNER, they were to be found in all areas of the
LNER on mixed traffic duties. A number were named.

These locos were designed by Sir N Gresley for
outer suburban duties from Kings Cross, condensing pipe-
work is included to portray those so fitted for working the
Metropolitan lines, some were transferred to the Eastern sec-
tion and some to Scotland.

These unusual railcars featured a removable locomotive sec-
tion to facilitate repair, they were intended for use on short
branch lines on the L&Y system

These locos were built between 1910-16 for the LNWR by C Bowen-Cooke
For Express passenger service. They were taken into LMS
service at the grouping 1923.

These locos designed by R W Urie for the LSWR in 1920
were primarily a Freight version of the King Arthur Class, although they were subsequently used on relief Expresses and Boat Trains with great success. This Western section model features the Bogie watercart tender.

This austerity wartime loco was built by 0 V S Bul-
leid for Heavy Freight and occasional Passenger work. They were designed as a short term wartime loco yet were
so successful that they lasted to the end of steam, rarely seen in the west country. Brass overlays are also included to portray the distinctive BFB wheels.

Designed by R Billington for the LB&SCR these usefull lo-
comotives built primarily for Passenger work were some-
times seen performing mixed traffic duties. The last was
withdrawn in 1956.

These class 4 Mixed Traffic Locos designed by R Riddles as
part of the range ofBR Standard Locos were widely used
throughout BR and appeared in both Black mixed traffic
livbery and Green Passenger livery. The kit includes 2 x
chimneys to enable the modeller to portray either single or
double chimney version . A BR2 tender is included in the kit.
Those locos allocated to the Southern Region were generally
fitted with the largercapacity BRIb tender. This is available
as an extra for details see or Loco Accessory list.

The Sultzer type 2 (later class 24) was one of the pilot
scheme diesels introduced by BR. In the early days they ran
on the Southern to cover for late delivery of the class 33 and
were seen on all types of duties including double heading
steam locos. Subsequently transferred to the Eastern & Mid-
land regions they performed many years of service.

These locos another of the pilot scheme diesels introduced as class 21 were very troublesome and subsequently a number were re-engined classified class 29 and spent the rest of their days in Scotland well away from London where they started!

These 4MTs were lighter than the 4-6-0 version and ap-
peared widely on the Southern region, venturing onto the
S&DJR regularly in addition to use elsewhere. The kit is sup-

Black V by R Riddles saw widespread use on BR including
the S&DJR where they were highly acclaimed by the

frame of the correct pattern (the Hall type is incorrect) This
class was the last of a long line of GWR 4-6-0's These strong
locos spent most of their lives in Devon and Cornwall

Rebuilt from the B17 Footballer.

Nb: a complete etched brass tender underframe is included in
this kit.
These locos were a Thompson re-build of Gresley's
famous B17's (the Footballers) and featured Thompsons Al
boiler as fitted to his Bl class, with 1 exception they were fit-
ted with tenders from the withdrawn C5 class and parts are
included in the kit to represent all variants of this tender, also
included is a Westinghouse pump for those members of the
class so fitted. The Odd man out was 61671 "Royal Sover-
eign" (the Royal Engine) and this was fitted with an LNER
group standard tender, if you wish to model this engine the
tender is available as an extra, for details see our Loco Ac-
cessory List.

The Billington E2 Tanks were built in two batches of 5 locos the first Batch in 1913 (Langley Kit code B18) LBSC No’s 100-104. Southern No’s 2100-2104. A further 5 were ordered in 1914 (this Kit) LBSC Nos 105-109. Southern Nos 2105-09.

A class of 10 locomotives built 1933 based on the 57xx fitted with condensing gear for working on metropolitan lines to smithfield market in London All based at Old Oak Common.

N7 class was designed by AJ Hill for the Great Eastern Railway in 1915. This model represents the later variant as used on Liverpool St Jazz trains to Chingford & Enfield Town in LNWR and BR (e) period. These powerful locomotives with this 4’10” wheels, superb powers of acceleration, excelled on the intensive stop/start Jazz service and lasted upto electrification of the GE outer surburban services in the 1960’s. The class appeared as far away as Cambridge and some GN areas
